Planning a wedding comes with a lot of decisions, and choosing a photographer is a big one. I get a lot of the same questions from couples, so I put together this guide to help make things easier. Whether you’re wondering what’s included in my wedding photography packages, how many photos you’ll get, or what happens if it rains, I’ve got answers.
How far in advance should we book you?
As soon as you have your venue and date locked in, reach out! I book most weddings 6–12 months in advance, especially for summer and fall dates. If you're planning a wedding in Lincoln, Omaha, or anywhere in Nebraska, don’t wait too long—dates fill up quickly.
What’s included in your wedding photography packages?
Every wedding is unique, but my packages keep things simple. Here’s what you can expect:
- Pre-wedding consultation to talk through your timeline and vision
- Coverage options for half-day (up to 5 hours) or full-day (up to 10 hours)
- A keepsake box with photo prints and a USB with all your edited images
- Online gallery for viewing, sharing, and downloading
- Engagement sessions included with full-day weddings
- You’ll get high-resolution, true-to-color images that feel like you—natural, not overly posed.
How many photos do we get?
That depends on how many hours I’m there and what your day looks like. On average, couples get around 70–100 edited images per hour of coverage. For a full-day wedding, that usually means around 700+ final photos.
Do you include engagement sessions?
Yes! Every full-day package includes an engagement session. It’s the perfect way for us to get to know each other and for you to get comfortable in front of the camera. Plus, you’ll get beautiful photos to use for save-the-dates, your wedding website, or just for fun.
What if it rains on our wedding day?
No worries—I’m always prepared. I bring rain gear and have backup plans for indoor or covered locations. Some of my favorite wedding photos happened during unexpected weather. Rain can actually be super romantic in photos.
Can you help us pose?
Definitely. I’ll give you guidance when you need it but also let the real moments unfold naturally. I’m all about finding that balance between beautiful, flattering poses and genuine, candid moments that actually reflect how your day felt.
When will we get our photos back?
My turnaround time is usually around 4 weeks. I also send a sneak peek within a day of your wedding so you have something to share while you wait for the full gallery.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes! I travel all over Nebraska and the Midwest for weddings. Travel within 50 miles of Lincoln is included, and beyond that, I’ll send a custom quote based on the location.
Can we see a full wedding gallery?
Absolutely. I always encourage couples to look through a full gallery so you can see how I capture the day from start to finish—not just the highlights. I’ll send you a few real examples based on the type of wedding you’re planning.
Do you back up our wedding photos?
Yes, always. I shoot on dual memory cards and back everything up in multiple locations. Your photos are super important to me, and I take every precaution to keep them safe.
Will you help us build a timeline?
Yes! I love helping couples build photo-friendly timelines. Whether you’re doing a first look or waiting until the ceremony to see each other, I’ll help make sure we have time for everything.
Do you offer albums and prints?
Every wedding package comes with a set of 4x6 prints delivered in a custom keepsake box—that’s my little gift to you. If you’re interested in a wedding album, wall art, or larger prints, you’re welcome to order those on your own. A lot of couples choose to use online websites like Shutterfly or Artifact Uprising. It’s usually more affordable that way, and you have total freedom to customize things exactly how you want.
Do you shoot weddings solo or with a second shooter?
I usually shoot weddings on my own, especially for intimate or mid-sized events. I use two cameras to cover different angles and always bring backup gear. Shooting solo helps me stay unobtrusive and keeps things consistent, both during the day and in your final photos.
How do we book you?
It’s super easy. Just head over to my contact page and fill out the form. We’ll chat about your wedding details, and if it feels like a good fit, I’ll send over a contract and retainer to officially lock in your date.
How do payments work?
To book your date, I require a signed contract and a deposit. The remaining balance is due after the wedding date. I’ll go over the full payment timeline during our consultation.
